Capture exactly what you need. Every layer is saved separately, so nothing is locked in.
Screen, window or region
Record a full monitor, a single window that you can move around, or a region with 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and 4:3 snapping.
Microphone and system audio
Each source gets its own track. The microphone has a live level meter and gain.
Webcam
Pick the device and resolution. The webcam is stored as its own video, so you can show or hide it later.
Hotkeys and tray icon
Start, pause and stop from anywhere. Ctrl+Shift+R starts and stops by default, and every hotkey is configurable.
Countdown and floating toolbar
A 3-2-1 countdown and a toolbar with timer, pause, stop and mic mute. The toolbar never shows up in your recording.
Crash recovery
If the app closes unexpectedly while you record, Gliderec offers to recover the recording the next time you open it.
Gliderec turns your clicks and typing into zooms, cursor motion and highlights.
Auto zoom
Clicks and typing bursts become zoom segments. The view follows your cursor with a smooth spring and never leaves the screen.
Smooth cursor
The cursor is redrawn from the event log. Choose smoothing strength and size from 1× to 3×, and hide it when it is idle.
Click ripples
A ripple on every click, with color, size and duration you can change.
Keystroke overlay
Off by default. Show only shortcuts, or all keys grouped into short words. Keys typed into password fields are not shown, on a best-effort basis.
A light editor for adjustments, not a full video editor. Preview and export use the same renderer, so what you see is what you get.
Preview and timeline
Play back in real time with tracks for video, zoom, speed, keystrokes, audio and webcam.
Zoom segments
Drag, resize, add or delete zooms. Change the scale, or pick a fixed focus point on the preview.
Trim, cut and speed
Trim the ends, cut out a range, or speed up a section to 1.5×, 2×, 4× or 8×.
Audio controls
Per-track volume, mute and fades, with optional noise suppression for the microphone.
Webcam layout
Show or hide the webcam per segment. Choose a corner, a circle or rounded shape, a size and a border.
Backgrounds and frames
Solid colors, gradients, your own image or a blurred screen. Padding, rounded corners, shadow and aspect ratio from 16:9 to 9:16.
Undo, redo and autosave
Every edit can be undone, and your work is saved automatically.
Style presets
Save a style once and apply it to every new recording.
Get a finished file in the format and size your platform expects.
MP4, WebM and GIF
H.264 or HEVC MP4 with hardware acceleration, WebM with VP9, and GIFs with a generated palette.
Resolution and frame rate
From 720p to 4K, or match the source, at 24, 30 or 60 frames per second.
Presets
YouTube 1080p60, YouTube 4K, Shorts, Reels and TikTok in 9:16, Twitter/X, LinkedIn and a GIF preset for docs.
Background export queue
Keep working while a video exports. See progress and time left, cancel any time, or queue several exports.
Copy and show in folder
When an export finishes, copy the file or open its folder in one click.
Safe fallback
If a hardware encoder fails, Gliderec retries with the software encoder automatically.
A focused Windows app that keeps your work on your PC.
Local by design
Recordings are never uploaded. The only data sent to a server is your account email and sign-in provider.
Sign in once
Use email, Google or GitHub inside the app. The app keeps working offline for up to 14 days between check-ins.
No telemetry by default
Anonymous usage stats and crash reports are opt-in.
Automatic updates
Updates download in the background and install the next time you restart the app.
